Branching out

I've just been having fun setting up my Facebook page for homemade fairy, it's a little different to how a regular FB page works so I think it'll take a little bit to get used to it.  But for now I seem to have some photos up and managed to invite some friends.

Read a loom pattern on how to make Barbie clothes (of course other dolls are available, but we modelled on a Barbie to begin with!)

It's a shade too long in the leg when she's not wearing her big heels, but mini fairy is thrilled and this has inspired her to have more of a go with the loom!

Currently my "main" project is (using the large loop) to try making a snood type thing employing the same technique I used for socks. ( I found this video useful by Knifty Knitter to make my socks, http://youtu.be/W3IQGUApHCQ) But obviously this is on a bigger scale ... It may end up looking like wearing an open sock on the head, but I feel it's worthwhile having an experiment.

Also Momma Fairy helped me find some rolls of fabric in the cupboard as I'm thinking of getting back in front of the sewing machine.  I've found some pattern advice for tote bags online so I aim to have a practice and have a go at these.  The pattern uses US non-metric measurements but I can approximate these to have a go.  (I found the pattern here - http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2013/07/two-tone-fabric-totes-2-variations.html )

Happy Crafting!
